Top 12 Anime and Top 12 Characters of 2012

The year of 2012 saw the debut and broadcasting of well over a hundred television anime and even more in the forms of movies and OVAs.  Over the past dozen months, I’ve spent countless hours watching these anime and documenting my thoughts, opinions and evaluations on each and every show.  Now with the year coming to a close, it’s time to summarize this year of anime with two simple lists: one on the top 12 characters of the year and the other on the top 12 favorite anime of the year.

Winter 2012 – Season Review

Despite being months overdue and embarrassingly late, the review for the Winter 2012 anime season is at long last completed.  Though these anime have long since concluded and become a fragment of our cherished memories, there should be closure for these shows and that’s what this comprehensive review hopes to accomplish.  Come, let’s take a moment to reexamine, reanalyze, and reflect on the anime that composed the first anime season of 2012.

Now that I’ve arrived back home from Japan, I can resume blogging about random tangential posts on the various anime I watch.  But before we dive into the finales for Nisemonogatari, Guilty Crown, and Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam is a post I intended to have published while I was on vacation but it wasn’t completed in time and left for when I returned.  Starting the trend of answering 50 questions was AceRailgun (I recommend you check out his blog) and quite a number of other anime bloggers have already done similar posts since.  I meant to have this up weeks ago but it kept getting delayed and was never completed until now.  So here are my answers to the 50 questions!

Winter 2012 – Week 10 Anime Review

With my vacation quickly approaching, this will be my last weekly anime review of the season.  I will be provide more details later but I will be gone for roughly two weeks which means it will be unmanageable to write two weekly posts, especially since I will be away from my computer and anime in general.  So this is it for the weekly anime reviews for the Winter season!

With that said, this week: a minor detail which in Chihayafuru which I absolutely love, something that is missing in Mouretsu Pirates, and an anime setting where I’d want to move to.

This week: a major change of opinion for a character in Chihayafuru, some logistical concerns in Mouretsu Pirates, and an ill-fated move in Rinne no Lagrange.

Winter 2012 – Week 7 Anime Review

Well, this is a bit overdue but better late than never.  As like the previous seasons, after hitting the midseason point, the order of the anime in this post have been flipped meaning it starts with Rinne no Lagrange and ends with Another.  Though it isn’t much, it does change the perspective by putting the anime in a different order, at least for me if not anyone else.

This week: looking for a better word than ‘pirate’ for Mouretsu Pirates, something else you can do with your diary in Future Diary, and a growing problem with the cast of BRAVE10.
