ultra_jump-october-jojos_bizarre_adventure-25_year_anniversary-jojolionAs you may already know, I am an avid, enthusiastic follower of the Needless manga and have been since soon after I began watching the anime.  Unfortunately for me, Needless is published monthly in Ultra Jump, a manga magazine that is sold in Japan and not available overseas.  However, after various situations and circumstances, I decided to research my options and learned of way to order a subscription to Ultra Jump despite living outside of Japan.  The outcome of this subscription to a manga magazine has unquestionably influenced how I read and enjoy manga and has allowed me to discover numerous new manga that I now find myself interested in.

12 Days of Anime (2012) – Day 10 – Sakura-Con, My First Anime Convention

jinrui_wa_suitai_shimashita-08-watashi-clones-tea_party-forest-laughing-cuteIn April of 2012, I attended my first anime convention, Sakura-Con, the premier anime convention in the Pacific Northwest.  Although I’ve had numerous opportunities to attend the convention since its inception in 1998 and even made legitimate plans to go while in high school, this year was the first that I actually went to.  For three days, I witnessed and participated in a paradise created by and intended for anime fans such as myself and my experience has provided a permanent impression on how I watch, understand and appreciate anime.

Spring 2012 – Season Review

With the conclusion of the Spring anime season comes a period of evaluation and judgment based on everything that was watched.  In the end, a final mark is given that encompasses our thoughts and feelings on the series and is the assessment we return to when looking back at the series.  Though this closure for an anime series may seem shallow compared to the experience we had over the past twelve or so weeks, it does feel like a way to properly finish a series before we fully immerse ourselves in the Summer anime season.  And with that, here is the final review for the Spring 2012 anime season.

Welcome AniBlog Tourney Voters! – Round 3

For everyone visiting my blog, whether a first-timer or a regular reader, I wish to welcome you to Avvesione’s Anime Blog!

After a rather lengthy wait, the turn for this blog has come again in the AniBlog Tournament.  Voting takes place at the same website as before but, as you may have already noticed, the voting method has been upgraded to a new system and voting is hosted on an external website.  Additionally, this round is distinct as voters will be able to select their 2 favorite blogs out of the 4 available in each round.  I hope to have your continued support in Round 3!  Also, be sure to visit and read the other blogs paired in my group: Baka-Raptor, Metanorn (and check out the podcast of this group, hosted by Metanorn), and Ambivalence , or is it ambiguity?

If you’re interested in checking my blog out, I strongly recommend you browse around and search for posts on whatever anime you like.  The style of this blog focuses more on analysis rather than reviews or opinions, but the format is episodic for a couple shows (Jormungand and Sakamichi no Apollon this season) with everyone else being reduced to Weekly Anime posts.  For those curious about my opinions on this season, my Mid-Season Review has a comprehensive list of all the anime I’m watching including a ranking of every show, scores, reviews, and thoughts on improvement.  If you’re not sure where to start and would like a few examples, please venture on below for some highlights of this blog.

50 Questions for Avvesione

Now that I’ve arrived back home from Japan, I can resume blogging about random tangential posts on the various anime I watch.  But before we dive into the finales for Nisemonogatari, Guilty Crown, and Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam is a post I intended to have published while I was on vacation but it wasn’t completed in time and left for when I returned.  Starting the trend of answering 50 questions was AceRailgun (I recommend you check out his blog) and quite a number of other anime bloggers have already done similar posts since.  I meant to have this up weeks ago but it kept getting delayed and was never completed until now.  So here are my answers to the 50 questions!

Steins;Gate – 25 (OVA)

When Steins;Gate ended back in September, I did not want anymore.  The roller-coaster adventure that ventured not only through time itself but every human emotion ended in one of the most perfect ways possible.  Its finale was remarkable and one of the most memorable and favorable I have ever seen from an anime.  Anymore and it would’ve been a drop-off of what Steins;Gate 24 was for me.

But that was then, and this is now.  In the short weeks following the finale to Steins;Gate, I realized I wanted to see an epilogue in the current timeline of what Okabe, Kurisu, and everyone else was up to.  What were their lives like now, I’d wonder.  Well, fortunately my wishes were responded to and this OVA, the 25th episode of Steins;Gate, satisfied my craving for seeing what happens after the conclusion of episode 24.
