This week: being fanservicey but not being a fanservice anime with Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-bu, finally satisfying my curiosities in Shingeki no Kyojin, theories on why I can tolerate the melodrama in Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou, and a simple suggestion to make Uchouten Kazoku even better.
During whichever week this belongs to: complaints on the detective/mystery work in Danganronpa, how Index continues to undermine Misaka’s character in To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S, excitement over distinguishing Fu’s character in Tamayura ~more aggressive~, and a slight but refreshing and welcome change in Monogatari Series Second Season.
Last week: why minimal amounts of fanservice is strange in Hataraku Maou-sama!, why no character development is the best character development in Suisei no Gargantia, the exceptional development and use of its enormous cast in Kakumeiki Valvrave, and considering the time, expenses and logistics of Frenda’s attacks in To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S.
This week: why the beach episode of Suisei no Gargantia is entirely appropriate and meaningful, what we can infer about the settings in Hataraku Maou-sama! and how they will dictate the story from here onward, why I have been impressed with how Devil Survivor 2 handles its extensive cast, and the main reason why we return to Kakumeiki Valvrave every week.
This week: appreciating the evolution of Akane’s character in Psycho-Pass, thoughts on how others face anxiety and pressure in Chihayafuru 2, the perspective and surprise of tricks in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and thinking about the story going full circle in Zetsuen no Tempest.
