Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 12 (Finale)

The second season of Kimi ni Todoke closes its curtains with some rather happy moments and beautiful memories, at least for those rooting for Sawako and Kazehaya.  For the rest, there’s nothing but the remains of shatter dreams and the tears that accompany them.  Like Pin said in the beginnings of the episode, if good fortune exists in the world, then there must be an equal amount of misfortune.  Well, I’m sure we’re all glad the good fortune exists for those who deserve it, like Sawako.

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 11

How different would Kimi ni Todoke be if it were shown through the eyes of Kazeyaha rather than Sawako?

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 10

Was Kimi ni Todoke supposed to be this fun?  After all the misunderstandings and drama and intrusion from the series’ lengthy but reasonable list of punchable characters (Joe, Kurumi, Kent, etc.), Kimi ni Todoke returned to its roots and provided some romantic progress between Sawako and Kazehaya, as well as an abundance of side-splitting laughs.  Gee, why couldn’t the whole season have been like this?

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 9

And with that, let the floodgates open!

The ninth episode of Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 was the one we’ve been waiting for.  Finally, we able to see Sawako openly confess her feelings to Kazehaya in the empty classroom.  Not only do the two characters feel relieved at this event, but so does the audience.  We’ve been waiting all season for their relationship to become closer rather than more distant and this is one of the first times we can actually see it become closer.

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 8

The school festival is nearly over and we have Sawako and Kazehaya together, alone in the vacant classroom.  They’re far removed from any potential threats (I’m looking at you Kent, Kurumi, and Pin) and the next episode is titled Confession, so yeah, we’ll finally be getting that coveted and elusive relationship progress.  So get those party poppers ready for next week’s episode.

And with the fruition of romance imminent, you can’t help but notice another blossoming take place in the series.  Well, perhaps blossoming isn’t the right word but rather utilization.  But then utilization doesn’t make for a better metaphor, so I’m going back to blossoming.  Yes, it’s eerie how Sawako’s medicinal herb garden is a metaphor for the relationship between Sawako and Kazehaya this season.

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 7

I don’t think we’ll get any progress until near the end of the school festival.  That’s just how these types of things work.  We’ll be seeing a lot of conversations between the secondary characters until the end of the festival when Sawako and Kazehaya, finally together and alone, decide to actually talk to each other.

So, until that time, why don’t we spend our time watching something else besides the supporting cast argue amongst each other and meddles in the relationship more?  Why not focus on the cast doing things outside of the relationship?  Why yes, that’s an atrocious awesome idea!

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 – 6

Is Sawako’s support network helping or hurting her relationship with Kazehaya?  On one hand, they are there to catch her when she’s down in the dumps and sobbing.  On the other, they’re kinda the source of a lot of these misconceptions that Sawako and Kazehaya have for each other.  So which one is it?
