Needless – Chapter 99

Though this chapter did present an enormous amount of thrilling developments, including some inconceivable shocks and heartbreaking twists, its purpose was to serve as a segue to the next story arc which will explore one of the most enigmatic and essential elements of Needless: Cruz’s past.  Mysterious and undisclosed up to this point, we will finally discover the history of our protagonist. **Warning: spoilers below**

Needless – Chapter 98

It’s finally happening, it’s finally here.  After being hinted at and foreshadowed for quite some time, we’re actually going to see it happen.  The Pretty Girl Squad’s next opponent will be… each other.  That’s right, we’re finally going to see the trio split and fight each other in what will be a true test for each girl, not only in might but in character and resolve.  And the battle with Seto and Solva still continues and with another major revelation.  Just what exactly is Simeon up to?  The City arc continues with yet another amazing chapter. **Warning: spoilers below**

Needless – Chapter 97

City arc is quickly becoming one of my favorite arcs largely due to how events are unfolding.  With virtually all the main characters making reappearances, several intense battles between unexpected fighters, and insight to major questions in throughout the manga (the Needless Hunt and Stigmata being prime examples), what’s not to love?  But probably my favorite aspect of City arc has been the individual time spent with all the characters, especially those who never had much time by themselves, like Solva for example.  This month, we were reminded of how awesome Solva is and how formidable a fighter she can be.  Actually, scratch that, we got to see her be even more outstanding and amazing than ever before.

12 Days of Anime – Day 12 – The Return of my Favorite Character

Quick, who’s your favorite character in all anime?  Probably was pretty easy, right, picking your top character or a small pool of candidates that depending on your mood would be your favorite.  It’s highly likely that those characters are from anime that are already completed (or if you’re lucky has material for potential additional seasons) so what remains are fond and charming memories.  It’s the same for me, too, but this year saw the reappearance of my favorite character in the form of manga and is taking the final spot on my 12 Days of Anime list (and yeah, I realize this isn’t anime).

Needless – Chapter 96

Ah, Chapter 96.  It’s another chapter which means a bunch of new developments and the return of a few old faces.  This time, it’s the reappearance of probably my two favorite characters in the series, so I’m beyond thrilled.  And regarding the story, another character is revealed to be marked with a Stigmata.  But with what we’ve learned in this arc about cloning and Eden’s Seeds, could this a true Stigmata or another fake? **Warning: spoilers below**

Needless – Chapter 95

Cruz’s evolution from a timid and frightened coward to a courageous and accomplishing hero has been a lengthy and challenging process.  But his positive growth throughout the series, especially from Chapter 50 onward (or about where the anime diverted and made its own conclusions), is undeniable.  And the opening scene of Chapter 95 is a perfect snapshot on how far our protagonist has come.

Needless – Chapter 94

How about that?  As soon as one surprising opponent goes down, another one, perhaps even more shocking and unexpected, shows up to challenge Blade and company.  Wow, don’t expect any breathers anytime soon, because it seems like it will be constant fighting until the end.
