This week: thoughts on why the antagonists of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are so brilliant, why the arrival of Juju has significantly improved Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, rationalizing that the Dark Faction in Senran Kagura is more kindhearted than the good guys, and the balanced use of success and failure in Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.

Autumn 2012 – Week 5 Anime Review

This week: some deserved recognition for the underapperciated Kamisama Kiss and why I continue to love it, the committee approach to detectives in Psycho-Pass, the captivating sceneries and environments of Sword Art Online, and the awkward ecchi fanservice in K.

Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam – 18

I know, I’m surprised, too.  A new Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam post?

Well, it’s been over a month since I posted anything about Last Exile and this episode is probably long forgotten by now.  Oh well.  Hopefully the topic is still interesting albeit it now being out of date by the most current episode but I planned to cover this series episodically (minus the recaps, though I must interject and say episode 17 was absolutely amazing seeing the entire original Last Exile in one wondrous episode) and dammit, I’ll do just that.

This post will cover the facelessness of war, the fact that neither we nor the characters truly experience all the human lives that are involved in these wars.

Needless – Chapter 99

Though this chapter did present an enormous amount of thrilling developments, including some inconceivable shocks and heartbreaking twists, its purpose was to serve as a segue to the next story arc which will explore one of the most enigmatic and essential elements of Needless: Cruz’s past.  Mysterious and undisclosed up to this point, we will finally discover the history of our protagonist. **Warning: spoilers below**

Winter 2012 – Week 3 Anime Review

This week: Yukiteru’s faces in Mirai Nikki, problems with the horror in Another, and interesting background characters in Persona 4 and Mouretsu Pirates.

Needless – Chapter 96

Ah, Chapter 96.  It’s another chapter which means a bunch of new developments and the return of a few old faces.  This time, it’s the reappearance of probably my two favorite characters in the series, so I’m beyond thrilled.  And regarding the story, another character is revealed to be marked with a Stigmata.  But with what we’ve learned in this arc about cloning and Eden’s Seeds, could this a true Stigmata or another fake? **Warning: spoilers below**

Needless – Chapter 94

How about that?  As soon as one surprising opponent goes down, another one, perhaps even more shocking and unexpected, shows up to challenge Blade and company.  Wow, don’t expect any breathers anytime soon, because it seems like it will be constant fighting until the end.
