[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 7

Finally, an episode revolving around the characters and their development rather than watching some Deals that lack structure and consistency.  We were fortunate enough to witness some of Mikuni’s troubled past to learn what drives him as well as dive into the mind of our tempting heroine-Asset, Msyu.  Both characters allow the audience to ponder their perspectives, be it Mikuni’s drive to minimize effects in the world and Msyu’s relationship with her Entre, Kimimaro.

Spring 2011 – Mid-Season Review

This is probably not the halfway point in the season for everyone but it is for me (and only because I’m making this post now).  With 12 anime taking up a majority of my free-time, it’s about time I update everyone on my thoughts and opinions regarding these shows, as well as provide a ranking because subjective information can potentially be confusing.  But first, some words on the Spring season, as a whole, thus far.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 6

If the black Midas money represents people’s futures, then does Q consume a tiny bit of someone’s future whenever she eats?  That certainly turns a cute routine into something slightly unnerving.  At least when Msyu eats, she’s just cute and not hurting anyone, directly or indirectly.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 5

There are just some concepts and ideas that I will never understand in C.  Trying to apply real world logic, and even anime logic, gets me nowhere besides having to deal with headache-inducing levels of confusion.  There is just some disconnect when trying to arrange the whole tango between futures, black money, Deals, and the overall effects on reality.  And while I don’t understand everything completely, I am having no trouble following the story.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 4

The influence and effects Deals have in the real world are startling.  Within the matter of seconds, someone’s lifetime achievements and successes will become nothing more than fond memories as a result of a single Deal.  But that’s what happens when you gamble with your future in the Financial District.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 3

What do we expect from the middle of C?  With the third episode over, we can safely say we are facing the heart of the series now.  But what will it show us?  Will there be a constant torrent of Deals from veteran Entrepreneurs (calling them Entres sounds both dumb and delicious) attempting to bankrupt our protagonist?  Will a beautiful or fateful relationship develop between Kimimaro and Msyu?  Can we expect Masakaki to harass everyone with his puzzling behavior?  And what about how cute Q is?

Actually, it might be easier to ask a significant question that can be answered at this time.  And that is: what path while this anime take?

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 2

You know, those Entrepreneurs in the Financial District aren’t so different from you or me.  Sure, they inhabit some uncompromisingly red world and battle each other weekly with human-shaped creatures.  But I noticed something more.  What I found interesting was that everyone in the Financial District was doing the same thing that all of us were doing.
