Spring 2015 – Week 4 Anime Review
Posted by avvesione in 2015 Spring, Anime on May 3, 2015
This week: why Hibike! Euphonium, a school club anime, feels more ‘school club’ than ‘anime’, the background art as an indicator of quality and personality in Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, how the scarcity of direct fights negatively affects JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders – Egypt Arc, and inherent positives with 3D animation in Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki.

Spring 2014 – Week 10 Anime Review
Posted by avvesione in 2014 Spring, Anime on June 21, 2014
Back whenever these episodes of anime aired: how detailing the background characters in Isshuukan Friends represents Kaori’s growth as a character, wondering if Adashino-sensei is Ginko’s only friend in Mushishi Zoku Shou, being frustrated with the expositions in No Game No Life, and why I’m going to miss Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin when it’s over.
12 Days of Anime (2013) – Day 7 – Anime Away from Home
Posted by avvesione in 12 Days of Anime, Anime, Me + Other Non-Anime Posts on December 19, 2013
Although I have watched anime away from home prior to this experience, it was always a momentary event. Whether it was watching an episode of Kare Kano in Italy in 2002 or bits and pieces of Nichijou while in Tokyo in 2012, I’ve experienced watching anime away from my computer or my TV. However, prior to this year, it had always been just an episode or parts of an episode. I also was not taking screenshots or blogging my thoughts on these episodes either. So when presented with the challenge of moving away from home for 3 months, from August to October, I wondered how my habits of watching anime and blogging anime would be impacted.

Now with the year coming to a close, it’s time to summarize this year of anime with two simple lists: one on the top 12 characters of the year and the other on the top 12 favorite anime of the year.
12 Days of Anime (2012) – Day 11 – Joining the Anime Community on Twitter
Posted by avvesione in 12 Days of Anime, Me + Other Non-Anime Posts on December 15, 2012
Although I officially joined Twitter on Christmas Day last year, it was 2012 when I discovered the bustling, chatty and sociable anime community there and began to frequent the service on a regular basis. In my entire first year of blogging, I failed to capitalize on the dynamic resource that was Twitter which supports a lively community of numerous anime- and manga-fans. Most other anime bloggers have accounts and use the media platform as a means to communicate with each other. So throughout 2012, I began to use the service to connect with other anime- and manga-fans which had an unfathomable affect and influence on how I watch and appreciate anime.
Summer 2012 – Season Review
Posted by avvesione in 2012 Summer, Anime, Season Reviews on November 18, 2012
So, yeah, the Summer anime season ended quite a while back, but it’s never too late (or is it?) to provide my final thoughts, opinions, assessments, and evaluations on the various anime that aired over our warmer, sunnier months. We’ve had plenty of time to watch and enjoy these shows and now it’s time to assign their final scores before they become little more than fond or funny memories or entries in our detailed anime histories. So, just how well did every show do according to my personal preferences? It’s time to explore and score the 2012 Summer anime season one last time!
