Autumn 2013 – Season Preview
Posted by avvesione in 2013 Autumn, Anime, Season Reviews on October 4, 2013
October marks the beginning of the final anime season of 2013. The Autumn anime season is typically a heavy one, marking the beginning of many new shows and the return of a number of favorites that were lucky or popular enough to be brought back. And Autumn 2013 is no exception, seeing as the line-up for this season has numerous amounts of potentially good or great anime to choose from. And as is the case with every season, these next few weeks are crucial to deciding which shows are worth keeping and which ones can be forgotten. And as with every anime season preview prior, I’ll take a quick but largely complete overview of all the shows airing this season while also including my thoughts and plans for each show. So onward, to the Autumn 2013 Anime Season Preview!
Spring 2012 – Season Preview
Posted by avvesione in 2012 Spring, Anime, Season Reviews on March 31, 2012
With a number new of Spring anime airing over the next two weeks, it is again time for another comprehensive (or close to it) season preview. This upcoming season appears to be brimming with optimistic hopefuls and candidates eager to display their best but the sheer number of anime debuting over the next few weeks creates some issues when determining a viewing schedule and for those with limited viewing capacity. As with previous seasonal previews, this preview will focus toward my impressions toward each series and my initial likelihood of watching an anime, not watching an anime, and how I think the borderline anime will perform. With that said, it’s time to explore the Spring 2012 anime season.
Autumn 2011 – Mid-Season Review
Posted by avvesione in 2011 Autumn, Anime, Season Reviews on November 14, 2011
One of my favorite things about blogging is making a list of all the anime I’m watching and putting them in order according to score and ranking. It’s a fairly unscientific and messy process but it helps sort out my thoughts and impressions of every anime and helps me visualize which ones are my favorites and which ones are simply ‘alright’. And it’s always fun to match these lists up with all the others, especially when there are major discrepancies between our favorites (and I’m fairly certain no one else has the same top anime as I do, so this ought to be fun). With about half the Autumn anime season already over, now is the best time to create such a list and have my Mid-Season Review for Autumn 2011!
Autumn 2011 – First Week Impressions (Part 2)

This post looks at Tamayura ~hitotose~, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon and Chihayafuru.
Well, this post should be easy. All three shows in this post are in the undecided category at this point, meaning each is fighting for one of the final slots for this season. Each show that is put in this category will survive another week and have one more chance to make its case to be kept for this season. Oh, except Phi Brain. That show doesn’t stand a chance against these three, so consider it dropped.
Autumn 2011 – First Week Impressions (Part 1)

This post examines C3 CubexCursedxCurious, Working’!!, Phi Brain, and Kimi to Boku.
The first bunch of shows for this Autumn season have aired and everyone is busily sampling what each have to offer. The first week of a new season is always the most active and pivotal since this is the time when people begin to decide whether to stay with an anime for 12+ weeks or not. Many allow each show to have two-to-three episodes before passing judgment but not me. One episode is usually enough to influence me one way or the other, so let’s see how these first few shows performed.
Autumn 2011 – Season Preview

The Autumn season is always the most problematic for me. School returns, work continues, football devours my weekends, and my free time essentially evaporates. And to make matters more difficult, the Autumn is usually a busy and impressive anime season with numerous impressive shows and other ones deserving of attention. In order to get the most out of this season, it will require some skillful juggling and efficient time management and even then, I doubt I’ll have time to watch all that I want to. There may be some difficult verdicts to make this season, so let’s see what anime might make the cut in this season.
