Needless – Chapter 96

Ah, Chapter 96.  It’s another chapter which means a bunch of new developments and the return of a few old faces.  This time, it’s the reappearance of probably my two favorite characters in the series, so I’m beyond thrilled.  And regarding the story, another character is revealed to be marked with a Stigmata.  But with what we’ve learned in this arc about cloning and Eden’s Seeds, could this a true Stigmata or another fake? **Warning: spoilers below**

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 10

Despite all the seriousness, zeal, and intensity these final Deals are displaying, I can’t help but feel that the Deals still look way too silly.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 9

So what exactly does the Midas Bank do with all these futures they receive in payment for their loans?  We’ve seen how energetic and overjoyed Masakaki gets over these gains but what does he do with them?  Does he just bunch them up in a pile and roll around in it like we imagine so many wealthy bankers doing when they return home after a rewarding day at the office?  Or are they a needed good for the tentacled villain that resides in the salient red sky of the Financial District?  We know how valuable these futures are but how are they used?

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 7

Finally, an episode revolving around the characters and their development rather than watching some Deals that lack structure and consistency.  We were fortunate enough to witness some of Mikuni’s troubled past to learn what drives him as well as dive into the mind of our tempting heroine-Asset, Msyu.  Both characters allow the audience to ponder their perspectives, be it Mikuni’s drive to minimize effects in the world and Msyu’s relationship with her Entre, Kimimaro.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 4

The influence and effects Deals have in the real world are startling.  Within the matter of seconds, someone’s lifetime achievements and successes will become nothing more than fond memories as a result of a single Deal.  But that’s what happens when you gamble with your future in the Financial District.

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – 1

I’m not sure why but [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control will be my favorite show this Spring.  Maybe the reason derives from the surrealism of the Financial District or the economic symbolism or the imaginative concept that drives this show to mesmerize me.  No, perhaps it’s much simpler than that.  Perhaps it’s just that this show is fun.  Oh and Masakaki is awesome.  But I’m sure you already knew that.
