Here is my final review for the anime that aired in 2013. Focusing only on the most excellent, most remarkable and most memorable of 2013, this review will document and explain my favorite 13 characters of the year and my favorite 13 anime of the year, too. It’s been a rather exciting year of anime, especially with the recent publications of my season reviews for 2013, so let’s see how everything comes together with one last look at the anime of 2013.

October marks the beginning of the final anime season of 2013. The Autumn anime season is typically a heavy one, marking the beginning of many new shows and the return of a number of favorites that were lucky or popular enough to be brought back. And Autumn 2013 is no exception, seeing as the line-up for this season has numerous amounts of potentially good or great anime to choose from. And as is the case with every season, these next few weeks are crucial to deciding which shows are worth keeping and which ones can be forgotten. And as with every anime season preview prior, I’ll take a quick but largely complete overview of all the shows airing this season while also including my thoughts and plans for each show. The calendar has turned and July is upon us, marking the conclusions of a number of beloved anime last week and signaling the advent of dozens of new shows for the next three months. As with every other season preview here, this one will take a complete and comprehensive look at all the shows airing this Summer with a special focus on all the new franchises and series premiering for the first time. Also included in a quick note about my plans for this season which will include a hiatus to some extent which will likely changed how I write about anime this season.
