Spring 2012 – Mid-Season Review

With the halfway point of the Spring anime season already elapsed and the final month of the season swiftly approaching, it’s time to take a moment and provide evaluations and grades for all the anime airing currently.  Allowing every anime to provide half or a quarter of their story allows for the best judgment of each series since every show has had their opportunities to develop their characters, establish their stories, and separate themselves from each other.  Some have scored well and excelled every week while others are continuing to struggle or simply lack the content or energy to compete with the rest.  It’s time to judge how the anime of this this season have fared in this Spring 2012 Mid-Season Review.

Spring 2012 – Week 7 Anime Review

This week: a reasoning behind the lackluster episodes of Lupin III: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna, examining the depressing existence of Yuuko in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, the new main character in Mouretsu Pirates, and why the concept of Upotte!! is quickly diminishing.  Also, a new anime, Hyouka, has been added to the weekly reviews and the list has received a new order.

Spring 2012 – Week 6 Anime Review

This week: a change of perspective in Mouretsu Pirates, a question about the transformation process in Zetman, an imperfection of Medaka in Medaka Box, and some concern over anatomy in Kore wa Zombie desu ka? OF THE DEAD.

Spring 2012 – Week 5 Anime Review

This week: reevaluating Upotte!!, the character with the most development in Tsuritama, why Mutta’s criticism of Hibito is wrong in Space Brothers, and why I continue to watch Medaka Box every week.

This week: observations on what’s wrong with Mouretsu Pirates and what can fix it, thoughts on Mutta’s goal in Space Brothers, the dazzling use of colors and lighting in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, and a perfect balance for Lupin III: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna.

Spring 2012 – Week 3 Anime Review

This week: thoughts and an idea for the plot of Tsuritama, you are a schoolgirl when you watch Zetman, the multiple features of the heavy shading lines in Lupin III: Fujiko, and I pretty much just complain about little somethings from everything else.

This week: underwater visuals in Tsuritama, the intelligence of the Bentenmaru crew in Mouretsu Pirates, a pattern of storytelling that Space Brothers has been relying on, and thoughts on the finale to The Future Diary.
